Currently staying here for our wedding weekend. We had a rather large booking for food last night before the big day. The food and service was amazing! We’d been given our own room which was great for everyone to be able to talk to each other and hear all conversations away from other tables in the restaurant. Can’t thank the staff enough for how the night went. They checked on us between courses to ensure the night was going well. I’m sure they would have been very accommodating had a problem occurred but everything was perfect! Just to add the rooms are incredible. Extremely clean, little extras in the room are a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we have another event or just want a weekend away. Thank you all again.

As one of our favourite places to eat in Winchester we booked for an early dinner before a concert at the Cathedral. We had a great table in the restaurant next to the fire although sadly the fire went out pretty soon and when we asked for it to be re-lit were told this wasn't possible! Food was tasty - lamb shank excellent, chicken/chorizo skews good (although slightly overcooked) and chocolate delice very good (although rather hard). Staff all very helpful and friendly despite being very busy!

Review of bar only. Service is truly tragic. Bored youngster behind the bar more intent on talking to her 2 friends sitting at the bar than serving. Ordered a glass of wine and she proceeds to pour the left overs of one bottle in to the freshly opened one with a plastic funnel in full view. I get that it’s the same wine and everywhere does it but I would expect it to be done out of view of customers.

Beautiful place very comfortable beds great location Breakfast fab and staff are lovely I would definitely recommend. Does get very busy in the pub side 😊

Had a delicious breakfast, albeit rather a lot... but that will keep us going to dinnertime. Service was amazing and our little dog was welcomed. Very cosy and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Pitifully slow and inattentive service. Never saw our waitress again after being served, so no chance to request the forgotten napkins, additional coffee, etc. and then another fifteen minutes to get our bill. It’s a shame, as the environs are lovely and the food was quite good. **Second time's the charm. My wife and I had visitors from abroad staying nearby, so we decided to have dinner at The Old Vine and are happy to report that this meal experience could not have been more different from the last. The food was outstanding all around - roast duck, sea bass and the pie of the day - but it was the service that impressed us most, as our server was warm, attentive and a delight to speak with. As always, it's best to give places a second chance and we're certainly glad we did.

Came in from outside when the rain started to be told this part of the bar is closed, can you move from the seat by the door to somewhere else. That part of the bar still had loads of people. Will finish our drinks and take our custom elsewhere, well done guys

What a fantastic place! We really loved our time here and decided to come back next year. Very charming. Great room, great location, very friendly staff, lots of space. Breakfast was really tasty too.
